Terrazzo, a trade of antiquity, is an on-site manufactured floor requiring exceptional skills and experience. Examples of some of the complex terrazzo installations D.M.I. has completed are the Harbert Building at Birmingham-Southern College, the renovated Birmingham Museum of Art, the Surgical Suite Additions to Children's Hospital and Medical Center East, AmSouth Bank Headquarters Training Center, and the John Sparkman Center at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville. Phase II and Phase III of the John J. Sparkman Center, Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL, Children’s Hospital South and Missile & Space Center, Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville are additional examples of our terrazzo work. More recent projects include Children’s Hospital lobby, Federal Reserve Building, Liberty Park, and Regions Bank Operations Center. The Jefferson County Courthouse, Birmingham, AL is a three year renovation project in which the existing terrazzo was matched to existing flooring and new flooring was produced. The Southern Union Sports Arena, Wadley, AL contains terrazzo in the entrance to the coliseum and also in the college wall seal.
